About Bomberger's Blended American Whiskey

Bomberger's Blended Whiskey is crafted in the traditional Pennsylvania rye style, which is known for being sweeter and more robust than whiskies made elsewhere. The whiskey, which is blended from a high-rye bourbon and McKenzie Rye Whiskey (from Finger Lakes Distilling Co.), is aged for a minimum of two-and-a-half years.

The whiskey has beautiful aromas of candied orange and cherry, which lead to vanilla, caramel and baking spices on the palate. The whiskey finishes with hints of oak and citrus, enhanced by subtle tones of tobacco and leather.

About Bomberger's

The Bomberger's Distillery legacy can be traced back to 1753, when two Swiss Mennonite farmers by the name of John and Michael Shenk began distilling rye whiskey on their farm near Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The distillery was passed down through relatives of the Shenk family until 1860 when the distillery was purchased (and subsequently renamed) by Pennsylvania Dutchman Adam Bomberger, who owned and operated the distillery until Prohibition forced its closing in 1919. At that time, Bomberger's Distillery was the oldest operating distillery in the United States, and in many ways represented the transformation of whiskey distilling from an agricultural enterprise to a large-scale industrial one.

Today, Bomberger Distillery is recognized as a national landmark and is undergoing a whiskey-making renaissance thanks to the stewardship of Dick Stoll, Bomberger's master distiller. Trained by Everett Beam himself, Stoll is the former master distiller of Pennsylvania Michter's, where he created the famed A.H. Hirsch Bourbon. Eric Wolfe, a business partner, involved in the revitalization of the Bomberger's brand, has said of Stoll, who is now in his 80s, "He knows so many things from doing this for decades, that he doesn't even know what he knows."

About American Whiskey

There are two main representatives of the American whiskey family, bourbon, and rye, but some other spirits don't fall into those two strictly regulated categories.

There's equally strictly regulated American single malt, made from 100% malted barley, Tennessee whiskey, essentially bourbon filtered through maple charcoal and aged in new charred oak barrels.

And then there's moonshine, a high proof (150- 170 proof) distilled spirit mainly made out of corn which gained popularity during the prohibition.

Check out our impressive selection of American single malts, or find your new favorite in our rich whisk(e)y selection, and get familiarized with what the world has to offer.

About The Singleton of Dufftown 28 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Singleton of Dufftown Single Malt Scotch Whisky is crafted exclusively from malted barley, which is milled and mashed before being fermented in the distillery's wooden washbacks. Following fermentation, the whisky is distilled twice: first through a copper pot wash still and then again through a copper pot spirit still. The Singleton of Dufftown Single Malt Scotch Whisky was distilled in 1985 and matured for 28 years in refill American oak casks. After its nearly three-decade long beauty rest, the whisky was bottled at cask strength without the use of chill filtration.

Released as part of Diageo's 2013 Special Releases, Singleton of Dufftown 28 Year Old has an aroma of caramel apples, pine and honey that give way to notes of chewy milk chocolate, dried fruits and marzipan on the palate. The finish is bold and terrific, with a touch of menthol and oak.

Only 3,816 bottles of this whisky have ever been produced. Pick one up today!

About The Singleton

Situated in the Speyside region of Scotland, the Dufftown Distillery was founded in 1895 by four wine merchants who, together, purchased a stone built saw and meal mill and converted into a distillery. Located near the confluence of the Rivers Dullan and Fiddich, the distillery draws its water from Jock's Well, which is renowned for its incredibly pure and flavorful spring water (on more than one occasion, nearby distilleries — particularly Mortlach — have been caught attempting to divert water from the well to their own distillery).

Following fermentation, the whisky is distilled twice: first through a copper pot wash still and then again through a copper pot spirit still.

About Scotch

Scotch is the most popular whisky in the world and is considered the king of them all! There are five whisky regions in Scotland (six if you count the not officially recognized Islands), and each of them produces spirits with unique properties and distinct tasting notes. (The type of grain used determents the type of the scotch.)

Malt whisky is made of malted barley, and grain whisky uses other grains like corn or wheat. Most of the time, a whisky is blended from different distilleries hence the name blended scotch, but if a malt whisky is produced in a single distillery, we get something extraordinary called a single malt.

About Sullivans Cove Double Cask Single Malt Whisky

Sullivans Cove Single Malt Tasmanian Whisky is made from barley grown exclusively on the island of Tasmania. "The island's deep red basalt soil, pure water and mild temperatures result in a barley that is perfect for distillation," says Patrick Maguire, the distillery's founder and master distiller (his ancestors were convicts that were imprisoned on the island). In addition, the island has one of the oldest and strictest quarantine programs in the world, ensuring that the barley remains untainted.

Once the barley has been harvested, it is malted at the Cascade Brewery by Roger Ibbott, who has over four decades of experience malting barley. The malted barley is then mashed and fermented at Sullivans Cove Distillery using a unique strain of yeast developed specifically for the production of Sullivans Cove Whisky. Then, the wash is twice-distilled through a handmade copper-pot still. "The real trick is to cut the run short, so that only the sweetest, best flavors and purest alcohol from the heart of the run is captured", says Macguire. "It's not the most sensible approach by an accountant's standards, but then it's a good thing that we are not accountants!"

Following distillation, Sullivan's Cove Double Cask Single Malt Whisky is matured in a combination of American oak casks that were previously used to mature Jim Beam (two-thirds) and thirty-year old French oak casks that were previously used to mature port (one-third). After maturing for eleven years in each cask, the whiskies are married together, brought to proof and then bottled. Sullivan's Cove Double Cask Single Malt Whisky has an aroma of soft spices and vanilla, which lead to notes of cloves, rock candy and pear. The well-rounded and smooth finish has a touch of oak and milk chocolate.

The whisky earned the Gold Medal at the World Whisky Masters in 2011.

About Sullivans Cove

Situated along the banks of the River Derwent on the island of Tasmania, Sullivans Cove was the site of one of Britain's first penal colonies in Australia. In 1804, at the order of the Governor Ki ng of the British settlement of New South Wales, Lt. John Bowen transported some of the most heinous British criminals to Sullivans Cove, which eventually developed into the city of Hobart. Hobart was the perfect penal colony — the area's dense forests required a huge labor force in order to establish a settlement, and its isolation and inaccessibility ensured there was no escape. Today, the island of Tasmania remains of one the most isolated and natural places on earth — approximately 37% of the island is protected as natural reserves.

About The Classic Cask 40 Year Old Rare Scotch Whisky

The use of wooden barrels to store and transport liquids dates back to 2690 B.C., when ancient Egyptians during the Early Dynastic Period began replacing clay vessels with wooden casks in order to meet the demands of their sprawling civilization. The advantages of wooden barrels were evident — not only were they less fragile than clay vessels, but their cylindrical shape allowed them to be rolled rather than carried across short distances. As settlers along the Nile quickly realized, however, barrels made from wooden staves imparted a unique color and flavor profile to the liquids stored within. The Classic Cask 40 Year Old Rare Scotch Whisky is a 40 year-old whisky that was blended together under the supervision of renowned Master Blenders David Hallgarten and Robert Mendelshon. Together, the pair sourced some of the finest whiskies in Scotland that had already aged for 15 years in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. Once the whiskies were identified, they were blended together and put back in their original casks for an additional 25 years. After this quarter-century beautyrest, the whiskies were finished for six more months in casks that were previously used to mature Oloroso sherry. The Classic Cask 40 Year Old Rare Scotch Whisky has an incredible aroma of raisins, maple syrup, dates and warm spices. Notes of marzipan, figs, honeyed oak, red fruits and chili dominate the palate, and lead to a finish accented by hints of mint, oak and cherries. The whisky earned the Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2014, where it was named "Best Blended Scotch 16 Years & Older"and "Best Blended Scotch Whisky." Only 1,980 bottles of this whisky have ever been produced. About The First Edition 31 Year Old Port Ellen Single Malt Whisky

Situated along the Kildalton coast on the island of Islay, Port Ellen Distillery was founded in 1825 by Alexander Ker Mackay. At the time, the distillery became renown for its innovative and experimental techniques: it was the first distillery to incorporate Septimus Fox's spirit safe design into its distillation process, and was one of the first distilleries to trade directly with the United States.

Over the course of the 20th century, however, the distillery changed hands numerous times. In 1966, Port Ellen Distillery was reopened (it had been forced to close its doors as a result of Prohibition) and refurbished with four new stills heated by a mechanical coal stoker system. Although the distillery was forced to close its doors again in 1983 as a result of slumping demand, the whisky distilled in the 17 years between its re-opening and final closure has acquired a reputation as some of the finest to have ever been made.

The First Edition 31 Year Old Port Ellen Single Malt Scotch Whisky was distilled in 1982 at the famed distillery and bottled in 2014. As a result of the unique, smoky peat used during distillation, the whisky has an intense and complex flavor profile. It has a sweet aroma of dried citrus, stone fruits and pepper that give way to notes of pears, apples, cinnamon, cloves and tart cherries on the palate, which are complemented with a subtle undertone of smoke and peat. The finish is constantly evolving, with hints of cloves, ginger, berries and oak tannins.

Bottled at cask strength in a stunning Glencairn crystal decanter, the whisky is enclosed in a rosewood box and includes two crystal glasses and a certificate of authenticity.

"Port Ellen's price has soared for a straightforward reason," says Nick Morgan. "Scarcity is the driver."

Only 60 bottles of this whisky have ever been m ade. Try a scarce whisky today!

About The Lost Distillery Auchnagie Blended Malt Scotch Whisky

Auchnagie Malt Scotch Whisky is the first release from The Lost Distillery Company. It is a recreation of a single malt whisky produced at the Auchnagie Distillery, which was situated in the village of Tulliemet and operated from 1812 through 1912. The whisky has an aroma of earthy minerals, dried citrus (particularly peaches) and malted grains. The aroma gives way to round notes of creamy vanilla and fruits, which are complemented by undertones of peat, flowers and caramel. The finish is lingering and smooth, with a touch of smoke.

Once the malt whisky used to recreate the Auchnagie single malt has been married together, it is fiinaly prepared for the bottling. "While our ten key components are critical in determining the flavor profile of a whisky we recreate," says Moss, "it's just as important to recognize what wasn't in the whisky. A century ago, there was no such thing as chill filtration or caramel colouring of the final product. That's why we don't do either of these things today."

Pick up this unique malt whisky today!

About The Lost Distillery

Over the past century, nearly one hundred malt whisky distilleries in Scotland have been permanently closed or destroyed. Most of these distilleries were lost as a result of macroglobal conditions, such as Prohibition, world wars or financial crises. As a result, many of the unique and venerable brands in the Scotch whisky industry were considered permanently lost — until now.

The Lost Distillery Company is an independent boutique Scotch Whisky company that is determined to create unique, modern expressions of the legendary whiskies that were distilled nearly a century ago. "We are obsessive about our craft and uncompromising when it comes to whisky quality," says Michael Moss, the distillery's Master Archivist. Moss is a Professor of Archival Science at the University of Glasgow and focuses on ten critical components in order to accurately recreate whiskies that were distilled nearly a century ago.

The ten critical components are the date of last distillation, the region within which the distillery was located, the distillery's water source, the distillery's barley source, the distillery's yeast source, the distillery's drying process, the di stillery's mash tun, the distillery's wash back, the distillery's still and the type of wood that was used to mature the whisky. Once these components are determined, Moss and his team of archivists and whisky makers marry together single malt whiskies from distilleries across Scotland in order to create a present day interpretation of that long lost whisky legend.

About Woodford Reserve

The Woodford Reserve Distillery sits on what was once an old Distillery founded by Elijah and his son, Oscar Pepper, in the 1800s. Years later, under the stewardship of Oscar and Master Distiller James Crow, their distillery reformed and modernized producing whiskey in the United States — the distillery revolutionized the concepts of sour mash and yeast propagation.

Today, the distillery is among Kentucky's oldest and smallest bourbon disti lleries. Nestled in the heart of the Commonwealth's thoroughbred country, it's the only place you'll find bourbon and horses maturing side by side. It's also one of a handful of spirits companies in the world to own a cooperage and craft its barrels, allowing for ultimate precision when creating exact toast and char specifications.

About St. George XXX 30th Anniversary Edition Single Malt Whiskey

Founded in 1982 by German-born Jorg Rupf, St. George Spirits is one of the oldest craft distilleries in the United States. The distillery, which is housed in an old World War II airplane hangar on a former naval base just outside San Francisco, is home to Lance Winters, mad scientist and St. George's master distiller.

Winters is widely-known for experimenting with different types of spirits — his laboratory is equipped with a 10-liter test still, which sits next to dozens of glass beakers and graduated cylinders that cover every inch of his counterspace. Next to the dusty chalkboards caked with equations for the conversion of sugar to alcohol and intricate diagrams of molecular structures are bottles of experimental whiskies, vodkas and even an aging balsamic vinegar (it's 14 years old already).

In 2012, Winters set out to release something truly special to celebrate St. George Spirits' thirtieth anniversary. The result, St. George Single Malt Whiskey XXX 30th Anniversary Edition, takes advantage of all of that makes St. George Spirits such a unique distillery.

St. George Single Malt Whiskey XXX 30th Anniversary Edition starts with two of the oldest barrels of whiskey at the distillery: SM-03 and BSG-73, which are aged for about fifteen and thirteen years, respectively. Winters, together with distiller Dave Smith, then blends the two older barrels with two younger barrels — Lot 12 and OCC-03 — that best showcase the characteristics of St. George whiskey. After getting the ideal blend, Winters, in a nod to St. George's early days as an eau de vie distillery, double barrels the whiskey in used pear eau de vie casks. While some whiskies are finished in former wine barrels, the unconventional pear eau de vie cask finishing lends an uncommon hint of sweetness to the single malt.

Bottled at a high 94.6 proof, St. George Single Malt Whiskey XXX 30th Anniversary Edition opens with a strong, sweet nose, with prominent notes of nutty malt, pears and other fruits. The pears remain on the palate, complemented by notes of ginger, almond and vanilla. The finish is long and strikingly smooth, with the notes of nutty malt nicely balancing out the fruity sweetness.

Each bottle of St. George Single Malt Whiskey XXX 30th Anniversary Edition is hand-numbered, before being placed in a suede-lined, handmade pinewood box with a black lacquer finish — a case befitting this limited edition whiskey.

Only 715 bottles of this limited edition single malt have ever been produced. Try a bottle today!

About Jameson Rarest Vintage Reserve Irish Whiskey

Jameson Rarest Vintage Reserve Irish Whiskey is a truly exceptional blend of whiskeys — a combination of grain and port-pipe pot still whiskeys, it includes specimens which have been aged in port casks, as well as whiskeys which may exceed 20 years in age. As a result, this beautiful creation has an aroma of fruit, ripe berries and banana nut bread, which leads to a silky palate filled with flavors of toasted wood, port, rich fudge and tangerines. The finish, slightly sweet, has hints of vanilla, cake icing, maple syrup and nutmeg.

Jameson Rarest Vintage Reserve won Double Gold at the 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and was twice named “Irish Whiskey of the Year” by Whisky Advocate.

About Jameson

You'd be hard-pressed to find a more iconic name in the Irish whiskey world than "Jameson". The Jameson tradition dates all the way back to 1740, when John Jameson was born into a family whose motto, "Sine Metu"("Without Fear"), was earned through the family's courage in fighting pirates on the high seas during the 1500s.

John Jameson himself was a living embodiment of Sine Metu, and his ancestors' bravery inspired in John a boldness that led him not only to open his own distillery in the latter 18th century but also to pioneer the technique of triple-distilling whiskey — now the gold standard in the Irish whiskey industry. John Jameson lived to be 83 — an impressive feat for someone born in the 18th century — and his descendants John II, John III, and John IV a ll honored his legacy by leading the distillery well into the 20th century.

About Irish Whiskey

Contrary to popular belief that Scots invented whisk(e)y, Irish whiskey was mentioned almost a century before its Scottish brother.

Its origin comes from the perfume distilling monks who decided to tweak the recipe a bit, creating Irish whiskey.

Irish whiskey doesn’t have a lot of rules and regulations to be considered “pure” and can be made with various grains and processes, as long as it is aged for at least three years in wooden casks and has a max ABV of 94.8%.
